The following Narriative is from Hazel's sister Jean... Dear Lucile, how good it was to see you and your family. I told that nice son-in-law that I would send information on the Pyle family. Many people seem to be very interested in tracking down their families. I think it is a very good thing. I could just kick myself around the block for not asking questions about family when my grandparents were living. Now is years too late and I would have given anything to talk to them. I am sending what I know and I know even less about Mom's family, the Campbells. I do know that she said they were Scotch Irish. Hazel Campbell told me one time they were run out of Scotland. Now doesn't that whet your curiosity?
Pyle Family (1594-Present) According to the book I have on the Pyles we are definately a part of America from the earliest time. Two characteristics of the family were outsiding...Most were intensely religous and another is red hair! The writer said he never saw a fat Pyle. The men were of medium height and slim. The girls were all supposed to have been beautiful when young. The writer said the earliest known ancestor was John Pyle born 1594. They lived in the Parish of Bishops Cannings in the count of Wists England. He said in 1652 in Weltshire England. The book was in some of Dad's things and I have no idea how he came to have it. Anyway there were a number of Pyles line and I gather we are all related someway or another. The family emigrated to the US from southern England in 1683 and during the Revolutionary War supported the King and were Tories. The book also said the family apparently originated in Greece and came to England with the conquering Roman army.
